About Chocolate

Cacao has deep roots in Mexican history, first used by the Olmecs as “Kakawa” and later evolving into the chocolate we know today. Technically a fruit, cacao is rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, and essential minerals like magnesium and iron. It offers health benefits such as improved circulation, reduced inflammation, and mood enhancement. Though naturally bitter, it’s prized for its flavor and wellness properties, making it both a historic and functional superfood.

History of Chocolate

Chocolate’s journey began in ancient Mesoamerica and reached Europe in the 1500s, when Spanish conquistadors introduced cacao to the continent. Europeans added sugar and milk, transforming bitter cacao into a sweet treat. Belgium later refined the process with advanced chocolate-making technology. In 2020, Cacao Mágico’s founders trained in Belgium, bringing back equipment and expertise to craft exceptional chocolate in Mexico using organic, ethically sourced cacao.

History of Chocolate

In the 1500s, Spanish Conquistadors returned to Spain with the precious cacao beans. Once in Europe, people started experimenting with adding flavorings, cane sugar, and milk. The people of Belgium created high-tech machinery to aid in the chocolate-making process. The precise Belgian technology has had magical effects on the creation of today’s chocolate.

In 2020, the founders of Cacao Magico travelled to Belgium to learn the chocolate-making process and buy the necessary machinery. Once back in Mexico, our Belgian Chocolatier developed the recipes and trained the Mexican Chocolatiers.

Cacao Magico’s chocolate is made with pure, 100% organic, all-natural, ethically harvested cacao. Our cacao is ethically harvested and sourced from Chiapas, Tabasco, and Oaxaca, all of which are in the prime cacao-growing regions of the world. Cacao Magico takes the cacao grown by local farmers and then transforms it into the most delicious, silky chocolate imaginable using the processes perfected in Belgium.

Because we use the highest-quality ingredients, Cacao Magico’s is the healthiest chocolate available. Our dark chocolate contains only organic cacao and unrefined cane sugar. It is lactose-free and vegan. Our milk Chocolate has only milk and cane sugar added. Our products are pure and designed to preserve the nutritional value present in our lovely ingredients.

After our chocolate is perfectly created, our chocolatiers use the luscious liquid to create a variety of delectable bonbons and treats that will entice even the most discerning palates. We rest easy in our knowledge that we have made the most delicious and healthiest chocolate possible.

It is our pleasure to share our craft with the world. Anyone wishing to participate in the chocolate-making process is welcome to contact us to set up a time to become a chocolatier and make their chocolate.

About Chocolate

Cacao was once used as a currency in Mexico and has evolved to become one of the most popular food items in the world. The Olmecs, the first major civilization in Mexico, are thought to have been the first to use cacao. They called it “Kakawa.” Over time, this word has morphed into the word we use today.

The cacao pod is the fruit of the cacao tree. The cacao beans, which are found inside the pod, are the seeds. This means that cacao is technically a fruit, but the chocolate we enjoy today is vastly different from the original cacao bean.

The first known culinary use of the cacao bean was to make a drink called Xocolatl, which means bitter water. Raw cacao is quite bitter, but people are willing to endure the bitterness for health benefits.

Cacao has many health benefits. Cacao is full of flavonoids, which help to lower blood pressure, improve circulation, and prevent blood clots. Cacao improves insulin resistance and has antioxidant qualities. Cacao has been found to decrease the risk of both heart attack and stroke. Cacao helps to reduce inflammation. Cacao contains tryptophan, serotonin, flavonoids, and caffeine, all of which are known to boost mood and reduce the risk of depression. Current research focuses on the idea that chocolate consumption may reduce the risk of developing dementia and improve physical performance. Cacao contains Iron, Phosphorus, Manganese, Magnesium, and Potassium. Eaten in moderation, cacao is a miracle food.
